December 17, members of the Ukrainian Evaluation Association gathered for regular meeting to discuss results of recently visited conferences in Chicago, Moscow and Kathmandu, and to present current and future projects of UEA.
Members and guests considered main tendencies in the monitoring and evaluation development in the world and region.
Olga Schetinina, the Head of the Board, represented UEA on the conference of Association of specialists in program and policy evaluation, which held on October 29-30, 2015, in Moscow. Participants paid attention on discussion the questions of evaluation in public support of nongovernmental sector, evaluation in sphere of childhood, impact evaluation and methodology of evaluation.
Iryna Kravchuk presented main conclusions and impressions from International conference of American Evaluation Association, which held in Chicago (US) on November 9-14, 2015. This year the amount of participants was near 6 thousands from all over the world. 20 parallel sessions worked at the same time. Iryna presented tendencies and perspectives of evaluation in Ukraine during the conference’s session “Perspectives of evaluation development in Europe: tendencies, context and examples”. Iryna’s personal impressions from participations in the conference were interesting, also she announced possible spheres of cooperation with American Evaluation Association, presented small grants possibility and travel grants for conference participation.
Antonina Rishko-Porcescu participated in Global evaluation week, which held from 23 till 27 of November 2015 in Kathmandu (Nepal). During the week two events was combined: II Evalpartners Global forum and III International Conclave of Community of South Asia. More than 400 participants gathered: 130 representatives of VOPE, representatives of parliaments and governments, NGO, representatives of UN agencies etc. Main events of the Week were: celebration of International Evaluation Year, presentation of development plan for 2016-2020, establishment of new initiatives among Evalpartners and new grant programs. Antonina presented Ukrainian Evaluation Association within EvalYouth initiative, main goal of which is to contribute of cooperation, innovation and exchange among young and emergent evaluators, youth stakeholders and key organization of youth movement.
Coordinators of UEA projects presented current results of projects in the end of the meeting. In particular, Larysa Pylgun told about first activities within realization of project aimed to facilitate professionalization of evaluation in Ukraine. Iryna Kravchuk articulated about project of preparation VOPE Government School. Both projects are realized due to EvalPrtners financial support.
Moreover Kontyantyn Ryzhkov presented results of communication with representatives of regional governments and possibilities of cooperation.
