Participation of UEA members in "Summer School on Monitoring and Evaluation for university professors" 11-22 July 2016 in Lviv, Ukraine

 UEA Board member, ass. professor of public policy and social development of the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine (NAPA), Doctor of Public Administration Iryna Kravchuk took part in the "Summer School of monitoring and evaluation for university professors", 11-22 July 2016, Lviv (held by MBF "Alliance public health" with the support of the Centers for disease control, Atlanta (USA) and the Center for cooperation WHO sentinel surveillance of HIV, Zagreb, Croatia as part of the project METIDA).


The aim of the training
was to familiarize the participants with the basic principles of monitoring and evaluation. Training objectives: to introduce the basic principles of monitoring and evaluation; draft a training and integration courses on monitoring and evaluation for the leading universities of Ukraine. The participants were academics who plan to improve or introduce courses on monitoring in their universities.

 The trainers of the course were:

Nathan Smith (University of California, San Francisco, USA);
Elena Barbaric (WHO collaboration center sentinel surveillance of HIV, m. Zagreb, Croatia);
Saluk Tatiana, project manager with technical assistance in monitoring and evaluation and the effective use of data, ICF "Public Health Alliance
Marina Kornilova, senior project manager of the development potential and epidemiological surveillance, ICF "Alliance of Public Health."

 Iryna Kravchuk and Doctor of science in Public Administration, Professor of the Department of National Economy and Economic Policy, Natalia Malysh presented courses on monitoring and evaluation, that are planned to be taught in the NAPA under the majors' "Multi-level governance" and "Analysis and Evaluation public policy".

Also, UEA active members, Doctor of Social science Oleg Mazuryk (T.Shevchenko Kyiv National University, department of social structures and social relations) and Doctor of Social Sciences Natalya Kovalisko (I.Franko National University, Department of History and Theory of Sociology) participated in the summer school and made a presentation of their courses and programs for monitoring and evaluation in their universities.

Passport of the profession. "Professional standards: an expert in an evaluation", which is the result of the UEA project ((http://ukreval.org/images/publikacii/stpdf).

 

We hope that the achievements of the Ukrainian Evaluation Association will be useful in the development of courses on monitoring and evaluation at universities, and this project will successfully continue. After all, the culture of monitoring and evaluation in the country requires a critical mass of experts in monitoring and evaluation.
